it's hard to believe i'm a mother this mother's day. i realize i went through 31-plus hours of labor and have been feeding and caring for this little guy around the clock but i still don't feel like i've earned the privilege of being honored as a mother in the way my mother should be.maybe after i've been a mom for 27-plus years the way my mother has i'll feel like i've earned the title. hope so. if i'm even half the mother my mom is, christian will be one lucky fellow.

Happy First Mother's Day Ives! It looks like you guys had a blast visiting family and friends out west. I'm really glad that we were able to visit with you and Christian and Megan for a few hours -- I only wish it could have been longer. Thanks for fitting us into your busy schedule. Love you!
